Art allows us to open up and bare our soul. Within each work of art, we see an effort to reveal beauty, emotion, and self-expression from the deepest regions of our spirit.

Painting was and always will be a way to escape reality. To get away from the day-to-day worries, to “wash away the dust of everyday life”, if I may quote the great Pablo Picasso.

And this is why I paint. To liberate myself from the burdens of the present and allow emotions to move through me freely. I leave a piece of myself upon the canvas, by sharing ideas, thoughts and fears through shapes, lines, colors, patterns and textures, while the interpretation of each narrative is up to the viewer.

Christos Raptis Atelier Workshop

Everyone needs a creative outlet to express themselves and in today’s society it is important to think about what art means. For me it isn’t just a painting; it is an expression of emotion that cannot be felt through just words themselves.

The concept behind the Christos Raptis Atelier Workshop was to create a space that will allows us to become so immersed in the artistic activity that we lose all sense of time and whatever else is going on around us. With technology galloping and us frantically trying to keep up with every aspect of our lives, the philosophy of Christos Raptis Atelier Workshop is to take the focus away from the mobile screen and return to the basic stimuli of creative expression through art. We seek ways to let emotions flow, while trying to create something that’s a reflection of us and capture it upon a canvas.

We are located within a space of just 70sqm in the bustling center of the city of Athens. Inside you will be able to wander through our art gallery or participate at one of our workshops.
